God calls everyone.

God calls everyone.
Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.  3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
What a good God we serve? Unlike man who would only take care of those who are good to him, God is good to all.  God welcomes everyone who will to come and received His blessings, His great love, His grace and mercy, His goodness, and His eternity.  After observing the spiritual poverty of all men God puts out a call for all who would listen.  His call is different than any we have ever received.  Normally when something is being sold there is a price to pay for it.  Here God declares that He would pay the bill in full for everyone.
This agrees with what God begin to speak through Isaiah at the very beginning of His ministry.
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
God had already sent out a call for sinners to come but had received little if no response.  God could have gotten upset with the response and moved on.  Instead God makes a new appeal in call for everyone who had no way of helping themselves to come.  That was the condition of every child of God and every person ever created.  The price for Godly providence was more than anyone could afford to pay so God in His good paid it all and invited all to come.  This is why Peter and others glorify the Savior in His work.
1 Pete 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
Yes my friend, blood was shed for you. Not just any blood but the precious blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ.  God has offered everyone His loving kindness.  Even today the good news of the gospel is still God’s top priority.  God knows what man has done, yet He is not anxious to condemn or judge anyone.  God wants all to respond to His invitation of love.
This what He was saying to church at Laodicea who had evidently locked Him out.  He did not send a lightning bolt to destroy them as He could have.  Instead our Lord did what we did not expect.  He stands at the hearts door of the Laodiceans hoping they will notice Him and let Him in.  Is that the position of the world today?  Did anyone notice Jesus?  What about you?  Have you surrendered to His goodness and mercy?
Revelation 1:9  I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, 11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. 12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; 13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. 14  His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. 16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. 17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18  I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. 19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
 20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
Jesus showed us that He had authority and power over everything.  Yet He calls sinners to come unto Him.  How could it be that the King of glory could involve Himself with such undone people.   Here lies the great mystery of our God, His unconditional love that goes beyond anything we can ever imagine.  After show John to write about His glory and honor He proceed to speak to the church at Laodicea.  A church that should have meant nothing to Him considering they had locked him out and proceeded to serve things.  Yet our Lord makes one final call to the Laodiceans to hear, listen and notice that He is calling and that He is there.
Revelation 3:14 ¶ And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;  15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Walking in the Light

Walking in the light is critical for every child of God.  Jesus walked in the light with total perfection.  Everyone was able to identify who He was and what He was about.  It was not just His words but His actions that made Him so credible.  We must follow the same example.  Not only in church and around other Christians should our light shine but around the present darkness that is in the world.  May God help us to walk in the light as He is in the light.
